Abstract

Between 2017 and 2022, students and professors from the St. Gallen University of Teacher Education develop didactic designs of socio-historical topics. Eight groups of two to three students work on this project each year. The results are presented on www.sozialgeschichte.ch. This paper addresses the project as an example of innovative teaching at universities of teacher education promoting both competences in history and history didactics as well as interdisciplinary competences. The project is substantially financially supported by the Society for Common Goods of the Canton St. Gallen.
