The project "Academic Network to empower Educators for Democracy and Peace" (short: DEM-ED) has the overarching goal of strengthening democracy and peace education in teacher training. The primary target group of this project is lecturers who work in the training or further education of teachers and focus on democracy or peace education.

Specifically, the DEM-ED project pursues the following objectives:
- Through international networking, the teaching methodology of democracy and peace education will be further developed and strengthened in view of the challenges posed by digitalization.
- Transversal approaches such as democracy education and education for sustainable development are increasingly anchored institutionally (e.g. in curricula, teaching, school development).
- The long-term exchange on democracy and peace education is guaranteed by the establishment of a digitally supported network.
- Through international networking, the teaching methodology of democracy and peace education will be further developed and strengthened in view of the challenges posed by digitalization.
